أسم الكاتب :
Dr. Waiel Awwad
نص المقال:

The capture of the Iraqi city of Mosul and surrounding areas in June 2014 drew the world’s attention of the sudden rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria/the Levant (variously called the ISIS, ISIS or IS). Since then, this monster was allowed to grow and spread its influence over a large portion of Iraq and Syria.

A bloody reckoning for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt

أسم الكاتب :
Dr. Waiel Awwad
نص المقال:

Deplorable though the violence is, much of it stems from the organisation\'s extremism.

The Muslim Brotherhood has put the final nail in its own coffin with the brutal killing of 26 police officers in Sinai. It is a declaration of the death of political Islam.

By embracing violence, it has undercut the wave of sympathy after the killing of its supporters by the security forces. The founder of the organisation and top leaders are now under detention; many of them went underground and disguised themselves to evade arrest.

I asked him a question: Mr. Arafat What do you expect from Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu? Arafat Kept silent and looked at me for a while and I could see the anger in his eyes .I repeated the question two times till he answered with one word: NOTHING and opened widely his palms.

نص المقال:

The rapidly developing situation in Egypt and the ouster of President Mohammad Morsi has puzzled many and belied expectations of those who thought that the revolution had started two and a half years ago, with the ouster of Hosni Mubarak.

GAMES THEY PLAY WITH SYRIA: INDIA CAN PLAY A KEY ROLE

أسم الكاتب :
Dr. Waiel Awwad
نص المقال:

Damascus tried to explain her views to the international community, but it fell on deaf ears. Propaganda triumphed. Top Western media outlets continued to tag the Syrian regime as an autocratic regime headed by a brutal dictator. A tag, which was a deliberate distortion, but was successful enough to keep away the pseudo democratic countries and neutral international media houses, if there is any, under the pretext it is an “undemocratic regime” and must go.

نص المقال:

Till 25 minutes after 9.00 pm, the deadline for the ceasefire between the Israeli army and Palestinian fighters, both sides kept on firing so that they don’t become the first one to abide by the decision. A sign of how fragile the ceasefire in the volatile region is. Gaza’s people, under occupation, woke up, the next day shocked seeing the grim pictures of death and destruction carried out by the world’s fourth strongest army.

Waiel Awwad: A clash of global interests is playing out in Syria

أسم الكاتب :
هالة عجم
نص المقال:

Tumult in Syria has been protracted and violent, apparently traversing a different trajectory from counterparts in Egypt and Tunisia. India-based Syrian journalist Waiel Awwad spoke with Sameer Arshad about why Syria\'s struggle has become so aggressive, the forces he identifies as being responsible - and the larger geo-political game he sees being played out in Syria:

It began as a call for democracy - since then, why has the Syrian uprising become so bitter?

Syria: sailing amidst the storm

نص المقال:

While  innocent Syrian people bloods is still spelling  on the Syrian soil  ,irrespective whether  of civilians ,security personnel  or  army officers , I am still trying to find an elaborate answer to a query raised by an imminent Indian statesman when he asked :tell  the reason why president Obama honored Syria by referring to her in his last speech?.It is very painful to me see my country bleeding but that is our destiny and the geopolitical strategic location makes it prey for many enemies within and externally mobilized forces as strong Syria is of no benefit to its adverse neighbors p

Syria and the Beasts

نص المقال:

Ever since the crisis in Syria erupted in southern city of Deraa, almost a year ago, many western capitals signed off president Bashar Alassad and talked of regime change despite the sincere efforts on the president side to calm down the street and enhance the political and economic reforms  .As we say in Arabic “the letter can be read from the heading  “.it was a collective efforts by the US ,few Arab capitals and the West to take on Assad `s regime and demonize the president character since he had a clean image of a young  ,charismatic and reformist leader .They have succeeded to a large
